 REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF NAPTIN EVENT CENTRE LOCATED AT AKANGBA SURULERE, LAGOS STATE.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

 

The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria NAPTIN has a very viable and well furnished event Centre at its Regional Training Centre Akangba which has been used by the general public for all kinds of events/seminar/workshops. Being  a training Institute, NAPTIN outsources its management to experts in the field to manage the activities and coordinate the day-to-day running of the centre using business model that’s mutually beneficial to th NAPTIN and the Managers.

The facility has a 500-seating capacity marquee tent and is strategically located in the heart of the city with ample parking space for guests.

 

2.0 SCOPE OF PROJECT

Management of the entire Event Centre including maintenance of facility as it arises for the period of contract term.

3.0 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Evidence of company registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (certificate of incorporation, copy of memorandum and article of association and CAC forms C02 & C07).
  • A formal letter of Expression of interest (EoI)
  • Evidence of similar services (Event Centre Management) in the recent past.
  • Evidence of VAT Registration.
  • Evidence of Tax clearance certificate for the last three years. (2018 INCLUSIVE)
  • Possess The legal capacity to enter the consulting contract;
  • Evidence of PenCom Act compliance.
  • Evidence of social Insurance contribution payments. (ITF)
  • Sworn Affidavit from Federal or State High Court disclosing as Follows;
    • That all documents submitted are correct and genuine
    • That none of the Director(s) have/has never been convicted by any court of law for any criminal offence related to fraudulent or corruptive practices, or criminal misrepresentation or falsification of facts relating to any matter.
    • That the company and its Directors is/are not in any form of bankruptcy
    • Whether or not any of the Officers of NAPTIN or BPP is a former /present Director of the Company.
  • All correspondence shall be in written and in English language.

 

4.0 SUBMISSION OF EoI

All interested consultants are to submit their letter for Expression of Interest to the Assistant Director Procurement; Room 15, 1st Floor, Procurement General Office, NAPTIN Corporate Headquarters, Plot 21, Cadastral zone, Idu Industrial Area, Abuja.

 

 

5.0 CLOSING DATE

 

All EoI application submission shall close by 12:00 pm, on Tuesday; 8th September, 2019.

NAPTIN HELD A THREE (3) - DAY OF STAKEHOLDERS FORUM FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE POWER SECTOR.

The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria(NAPTIN), held a three (3) - day Stakeholders’ Forum for Technical Education and Development in the Power Sector,(TED2019) in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State Capital Nigeria themed "The Role of Local Content and Legislative Support".

In his Welcome Address, the Director General of NAPTIN, Mr.Ahmed Bolaji  Nagode, commended the support of the Federal Government under President Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR)in providing financial support to NAPTIN under the AFD project to transform vocational skills in the power sector. He noted  the importance of the Ministerial Retreat initiated by the immediate past Honourable Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola(SAN, in ensuring synergy amongst Ministry, Departments and Agencies under the Power Sector.

Mr.Nagode commended the efforts of the Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria(TCN), Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency(NEMSA), in collaborating with NAPTIN, to train a very   large number of their Staff.

He as well observed the role of NEMSA and the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in ensuring that standard and certification of certain   critical trades   , towards enhancing efficiency and productivity.

He emphasized the importance of local content and legislative support by commending the efforts of the National Assembly in appropriating budgets for the stakeholders workshop and also encouraging the patronage of NAPTIN as a Centre of Excellence in building human skills capacity in the power sector. He stressed the importance of Local Content in providing jobs for teeming nigerian youths and growing our economy.

NAPTIN BAGS GOLDEN EUROPE AWARD FOR QUALITY AND COMMERCIAL PRESTIGE

The National  Power Training Institute of Nigeria(NAPTIN, has been presented with the Golden Europe Award for Quality and Commercial Prestige by the France based Association Otherways Management and Consulting.

The Institute was given the prestigious Award at the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin Germany on Monday the 15th of July 2019.The Award ceremony attracted several Private Companies, Business Enterprises and Government Agencies from five Continents of the world.

The President /Chief Executive Officer of the Association Otherways Management and Consulting Mr.Charbel S. Tabet, while addressing participants and guests during the presentation ceremony, said "exceptional products quality and unique performance have uploaded your firm into becoming one of the exclusive authorised quality firms from all the five continents.

Charbel also stressed that the "Awarded Companies here  tonight in Berlin, are true Ambassadors of quality in the world wide Business Community and it is for this reason that Otherways has the pleasure to honour the successful companies at this ceremony".

Speaking further, he said "tonight  you are writing your story in the Book of Business History, a book which talks about dedication, talent and innovation".

While commenting about the Award given to NAPTIN, the Director General of the Institute, Ahmed Bolaji Nagode,who was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Director Public Affairs of NAPTIN, Lawal Umar Muhammad, described the Award as another milestone achievement of the institute that is being acknowledged even beyond the shores of African Continent.Adding that the Award will spur him on, to work harder in order to record more achievements and that it is a clear recognition of NAPTIN'S role in Capacity Building beyond Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

ECOWAS certification of Sustainable Energy Skills (ESCES) - Off grid Solar PV technician Level 1

This scheme is currently covering only technicians/professionals of off-grid solar PV systems,but will gradually be extended to other clean technology professionals. The regional certification scheme is designed to test the competencies of candidates. Candidates who will demonstrate the requisite skills, abilities, and knowledge typically required in installing and maintaining off-grid solar PV systems in this competency-based examination will be awarded the credentials of the Regional Certification Body ( RCB) . The paramount process for getting certified is illustrated in the figure below.
The stages of the competency-based examination are practical and written as illustrated in figure below. An applicant can only be certified after passing the written and practical examination. The examinations are designed to assess the competencies of the candidates based on the JTA.


TARGETED COMPETENCIES

List of competencies covered by the ESCES Scheme for off-grid solar PV technicians/professionals:
• Working Safely with Photovoltaic Systems
• Understanding Solar Energy and PV Systems Basics
• Understanding PV System Design
• Installing Mechanical and Electrical PV Components
• Installing Cables,Connectors and Protective Devices
• Completinng System Installation,Testing and Commissioning
• Conducting Maintenance and Troubleshooting Activities

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
In brief,it requires that an applicant must be at least 18 years of age:
• with at least two (2) years of practice as a solar technician; or
• with at least two (2) years of practice as an electrician; or
• Applicants holding Diploma,Bachelor,Master degree and beyond in fields of engineering,or architecture are also eligible for programme.

NAPTIN COMMENCES TRAINING OF 600 STAFF OF THE TRANSMISSION COMPANY OF NIGERIA(TCN).

NATIONAL POWER TRAINING INSTITUTE OF NIGERIA (NAPTIN), COMMENCES TRAINING OF 600 STAFF OF THE TRANSMISSION COMPANY OF NIGERIA(TCN).

The Ag.Director General of the National power Training Institute of Nigeria(NAPTIN), Mr.Ahmed Bolaji Nagode,fielding questions from journalists, after the induction ceremony at Akangba Regional Training Centre on the 18th of March 2019.

The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), kickstarts the training of 600 staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria(TCN) at its Lagos Regional Centres of Akangba and Ijora . The training  which is to be carried out in batches will start with 246 participants who have been segmented into three groups of  83, 83 and 80 staff.
The Ag.Director General of NAPTIN Ahmed Bolaji Nagode, revealed that the training which is segmented into three categories of Transmission Lines Construction Design and Maintenance, Transformer Maintenance.and Power System Protection will takeplace within a period of 7 seven weeks, in Ijora, Kainji and Kaduna Regional Training Centres of the Institute.
