The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) was established in 2009 as an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), operating under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing (FMPWH) with a mandate to develop skilled professionals and human capital for the power Sector
The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) through the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing (FMPWH) and its training agency responsible for vocational training and capacity building in the Power Sector, National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), is calling on Nigeria Youths to take advantage of these high quality career advancement scholarship scheme as NAPTIN has developed the following strategic training programmes to empower qualified Nigerian youths.
2018 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
NAPTIN TECHNICAL SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAMME (NTSAP)
The NAPTIN Technical Skills Acquisition Programme (NTSAP) is a long term skill acquisition programme, which is competency based, designed to equip young graduates and undergraduates with requisite skills and capacity to become professional Engineers, Technicians, Craftsmen, and Artisans.
All courses are generic, providing knowledge, technical know-how and the requisite skills to perform among others, some maintenance operations and build a career in the Power Sector and the Renewable Energy Industry
The scholarship training programme will cover the following but may not be limited to the following courses:
- Solar Photovoltaic Installation Course (Renewable Energy)
- Cable Jointer Course
- Electrical Fitters Course
- Lines Construction and Maintenance (Climbers) Course
- Distribution Substation Operators (DSO) Course
Admissions are open to all graduates of science based disciplines from recognized universities/ polytechnics/ colleges of Education & similar Institutions. Opportunities for training are also open to holders of WAEC/ SSCE/ NECO/OND/NCE and equivalent qualifications in science discipline for admission into the 2018 NAPTIN Technical Skills Acquisition Programme (NTSAP):
- A minimum of SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE and OND in sciences, for Solar Photovoltaic Installation Course
- A minimum of SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE in sciences for Cable Jointer Course
- A minimum of SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE in sciences for Electrical Fitters Course
- A minimum of SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE in sciences for Lines Construction and Maintenance (Climbers) Course
- A minimum of OND CERTIFICATE in ELECTRICAL for Distribution Substation Operators (DSO) Course
The programmes are a six-(6) months duration of intensive hands-on experience. It will take two (1) Months of hands-on classroom learning and four (5) Months of hands-on practical field mentorship and internship experience to empower every participant with the requisite knowledge and practical skills required for the entrepreneurship competency in each of the course areas.
Please note that this scholarship covers only 100% course/tuition fee. The venues for these trainings are NAPTIN Corporate Headquarters, Abuja, F.C.T, NAPTIN Regional Training Centre, Ijora, Lagos State and NAPTIN Regional Training Centre Kainji, Niger State. The choice of the location is informed by the nature of training with the view of exposing Participants to both classroom (theory & intensive hands-on-practical) and relevant field exposure towards achieving maximum training impact. Only qualified candidates shall receive further correspondence from the Institute.
