Lawal Umar Muhammad was born on the 2nd of October 1963. He obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate in LEA Tudun Wada Zaria in 1975. Thereafter He proceeded to Government College Katsina from 1980-1985. He holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication.
He joined the Service of the then NEPA (PHCN) in 1997 as Manager (Public Relations). He was Promoted to Principal Manager (Public Relations) and redeployed to NAPTIN in 2011. He was also promoted to the Assistant Director (Public Relations) in 2012. Lawal Umar received various training and capacity development both locally and abroad.
Lawal Umar Muhammad is married with children.
